    Fun new projects... commission pieces
This week calico is a request from a client for her mom. It started as a wooden can on a shelf which was painted. I am glad I kept the shelf on the kitty so it can stand but also because the buttons at the bottom look so cute! The client's mom is getting out of the hospital soon and this will be greeting her when she gets home. An old metal plant stand with very tired resin shelves got a redo. I cut the wood rounds and made mosaics on them. It is suitable for outdoors. All sealed. It's good to

the lamb project.. buttons are fun!
I enjoy finding shapes, usually made of wood. They languish in estate sales, thrift stores and flea markets. No one wants them anymore. Maybe the paint has faded, they are no longer whole or they are downright ugly! None of that matters in a transformation! The link below is to a you tube video I made showing how to put together a button lamb.  Hope you enjoy!

    The snowboard transformation
Recently, the weather was exceptionally warm, inviting outdoor mosaic work! I began a project I had been planning for some months, when I purchased a snowboard from a neighbor's garage sale. After the success of the surfboard, I wanted to try an even larger piece. I chronicled the process in steps and photos on this YouTube page. I hope you will take a look at it!

    Furniture! How fun!
I like to buy small pieces of furniture, mostly tables and stools, and chairs. I make them one of a kind! See some examples: Is this cute or what! I find that people especially enjoy the stained glass art on the tops of the tables. This one sold the day after it was finished! Here is another below. The table has a fun shape. Several different patterns of plates were used. More examples of my furniture can be found in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLYOAjrWd0k

    The heart project
I bought 3 heart shapes online. Then each one got a special treatment.  The pink heart. Adorned with buttons and cuteness this one is very bright and pretty. It is covered in clear resin. Best way to cover a mosaic when you have some  The second heart was grouted. I love the use of the plate pattern with the fence, curling around the form.  The third one is different, in that the heart hosts a large planter with cherubs. It is very cute. So I hope that the public will like them and they found a

The giraffe .... trash to treasures!
What would YOU do with this fellow? I found this homely fellow in a thrift store, and bought him for a $1. He was transformed, and I chronicled it on my YOU Tube channel. Take a look!

    The surfboard project
One of the best part of making repurposed art is FINDING things to re-imagine. I enjoy the hunt. Whether it is a garage sale, yard sale, thrift store, estate sale, I love to look. I do a quick walk around of a place, then zero back to certain things, if something was interesting. On one such hunt I found in a corner of the very last vendor stall in a large thrift store a 3.5 foot tall surf board. It was painted and it was a great wooden shape. Such a find! And $10. SOLD! It went home with me

    wind chime for Robert
What to give someone who is a proud Veteran, rides a motorcycle, plays gold and loves bowling? His own wind chime to hang outside on the deck. Here is the piece. You can see it in the wind chime folder in more detail. Both the giver and the recipient loved it. The top of the chime came from a. thrift store. It is a Beautifully handcrafted wooden motorcycle. The dangles from the wind chime are made of clay bowling pins and a real golf ball. There are American flag  beads which form part of the
